Gilles Roudiere (Fr): En Silence

Gilles Roudiere (1976)  is a member of mid-generation contemporary French photography. He’s not a street photographer, neither a documentarist, but he keeps capturing ephemeral intimate and banal moments of countries he travels.

Gilles Roudiere: Albanie, Vlora, 2011

With his black and white grainy images he explores the authentic identity of his destinations and shows how people interact with their surroundings across different cultures. Roudiere although has a very personal approach in portraying shifting daily life and milieu, creating a rather cinematic narrative.  The exhibition – showcasing his series Trova, Unsung song of a city and What are these mountains dreaming about? –  is part of Budapest Photo Festival and Francophonie Festival and held with the cooperation of Institut français de Budapest.
Curator: Rita Somosi
